Characteristics and application of nano injection NMT Technology

Nano molding technology (NMT) is a working method combining metal and plastic with nanotechnology. After the metal surface is nano treated, the plastic is directly injected into the metal surface, so that the metal and plastic can be formed as a whole. It can not only take into account the appearance and texture of the metal, but also simplify the design of product mechanism parts, making the product lighter, thinner, shorter and smaller, and more cost-effective than CNC working method.

Japan has adopted NMT technology many years ago, which has the advantages of simplifying the manufacturing process, shortening the working hours and improving the mechanical performance, reducing the production cost and high bonding strength, and significantly reducing the utilization rate of relevant consumables. Japan Dacheng Plastic has NMT patent.

At the beginning, aluminum and hard resin were only integrated into the molding. Later, this NMT technology was further improved and can be applied to the integration molding of magnesium, stainless steel, titanium and other metals with hard resin. And further developed the intermetallic bonding technology, which is expected to have new applications in the composite products of metal and resin.

Special features

Insert injection molding connecting metal and resin:

• nanoscale pits are formed on the metal surface by NMT treatment technology;

• use hard resin to enter nano pits through injection molding, so that the resin and metal are connected together;

• make the skeleton and chassis of the developed new product have lightweight external metal parts.

Applicable metal and resin materials:

• aluminum, magnesium, copper, stainless steel, titanium, iron, galvanized sheet, brass;

• aluminum alloy has strong adaptability, including 1000 to 7000 series;

• resins include PPS, PBT, PA6, PA66, PPA;

• PPS has a particularly strong adhesive strength (3000n/c ㎡).

Reduce environmental impact:

• NMT technology simplifies and shortens the manufacturing process;

• as a bonded magnesium alloy metal, unnecessary surface treatment processes are reduced;

• because NMT is a safe and recyclable technology, it has little impact on the environment.

Application of NMT

The potential use of NMT products exceeds that of magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy die-casting products, and has very strong adhesion.

NMT products can be expanded to a wide range of fields, such as mobile phones, digital cameras, personal computers and mobile communication electronic products.
